A light-hearted meeting, with a quiz - test your logic and psychological skills by deciphering the multiple-choice questions and mad-cap puzzles. And perhaps even a guest appearance by that crossword!

Monday 3rd March 2008 8.00pm The City Discovery Centre, Bradwell Abbey, Milton Keynes The Development of Towcester
A talk by Brian Giggins, the Archaeological Officer from Milton Keynes Council.
Brian is a Towcester resident and Building Historian
Towcester is the oldest town in Northamptonshire and its origins can be traced back to the middle stone age. It appears to have been settled continuously since, as besides the Neolithic remains there is also evidence of Iron Age burials.
Monday 7th April 2008 8.00pm The City Discovery Centre, Bradwell Abbey, Milton Keynes Journey through the Kingdoms of Kush
Julia Brocklesby from The Abingdon Society (and ex-NBAS member) will be showing a number of photographs and describing some of the fascinating sites she's visited in Sudan. Kush was a civilization (900 BC - 350 AD) centered in the region of Nubia, located in what is today northern Sudan. One of the earliest civilizations to develop in the Nile River Valley, Kushite states rose to power before a period of Egyptian incursion into the area.
Sunday 11th May 2008 10.30am Oxfordshire County Council Museums Resource Centre A Group Visit to the Open Day. The Resource Centre is located near Standlake, just to the west of Oxford and south of Whitney

N.B. The open day runs from 10.00am till 4.00pm
This event celebrates Museums and Galleries month 2008 with the theme 'Ideas and Innovations'. Find out what inspired the development of everyday objects from our archaeology and social history collections and take the opportunity to see behind the scenes at the Museums Resource Centre and meet the staff.
Admission is free and guided tours will be available throughout the day

Monday 2nd June 2008 8.00pm The City Discovery Centre, Bradwell Abbey, Milton Keynes Stonehenge On The Ouse. A talk by Isabel Lisboa on some on the hidden archaeological site along the Ouse valley.
Monday 7th July 2008 7.30pm Milton Keynes Village - A tour
A walk around Milton Keynes Village
We start at the the cricket field car park, next to the village hall. We will then walk around the village looking at some of the historical buildings and features, including All Saints church & the medieval fishponds.
