Greyhound Booch
running dog
The emblem of our society is from a drawing made by one of our members, Brian Martin, of a brooch which he found while fieldwalking. It is probably Romano-British, about 4cm long, and was found in the Gayhurst area north of Newport Pagnell. The picture above shows it greatly enlarged. We think it's meant to be a dog, perhaps a greyhound though it could be a deer or even a hare.

The original is now in the Cowper Museum in Olney.
