Monday 2nd June 1997 8.00pm Churches in the North Bucks Area A chance to visit some of the churches mentioned in Susan Daish's talk in May. We intend to visit the Church at Lathbury, know for its Mediaeval wall paintings, and the contrasting 17th Century church of Gayhurst. Meet at 8.00pm at Lathbury (just north of Newport Pagnell, off the road to Stoke Goldington).
Sunday 22nd June 1997 12.00pm Minster Lovell Oxfordshire Annual Picnic.
The site of a ruined Mediaeval Hall and Church. Located on the River Windrush near Witney, west of Oxford. Bring your picnic along for a relaxing day out in historic surroundings. Meet on site at 12.00pm, or The Wayfarer car park at Willen lake at 10.30am.
Monday 7th July 1997 8.00pm City Discovery Centre, Bradwell Abbey, Milton Keynes Ian Meadows from Northamptonshire Archaeology will be talking to us about the Roman Vineyards of the Nene Valley. You may have seen his article in Current Archaeology No. 150 (November 1996) - Wollaston: The Nene Valley, a British Moselle?
Sunday Lunchtime 10th August 1997 Isabel's House Isabel Lisboa has agreed to host our Annual Barbecue. Food and the first drink are provided for this fund raising event, for which there is a small charge..

Saturday 20th September 1997 10.30am Northampton Museum Robert Moore of Northampton Museum will be giving us a guided tour of the exhibits. We will then be shown the archives. The tour will last about 2 hours.We will meet at 10.30am at the museum.
Monday 6th October 1997 8.00pm City Discovery Centre 82 Alston Drive Bradwell Abbey A Practical Evening
Our old friend Richard Ivens will be bring along some pottery he has excavated from local sites. This should include some items from one of the many kilns at Potterspury (just north of Old Stratford), including the one members of society helped to excavated a couple of years ago.
Monday 3rd November 1997 8.00pm City Discovery Centre 82 Alston Drive Bradwell Abbey Open Discussion Meeting. An informal discussion meeting to discuss our plans and alternatives for field work in the near future. This will include possible sites for field walking in the North Bucks area, particularly in the Ouse Valley. We also have a real possibility to continue our excavation work, with the likelihood of assisting in the excavation of a Mediaeval pottery kiln in Potterspury. Some of you will be aware this was the site of our societies first involvement in a dig, and Richard Ivens & Isabel are trying to sort out the arrangements for the excavation of another kiln in the same area.
Saturday 6th December 1997 7.30pm Alison's House Christmas Party.
This years party is to be held at Alison's House. Please contact her to find out what food is needed, or if you have a particular recipe you wish to contribute
